My name is Darcy Austin and I have owned dogs for the past twenty years and over that time I have learned one important thing: If you don’t make the decision to take action and get your dog enrolled in Dog Obedience School now, it’s very likely that you won’t be the king or queen of your castle for very long. Now thanks to the internet, you can be the trainer and do it all right from the convenience of your home. Not only does this save you time and money but it also helps you to bond with your dog because you’re learning together.

There are so many different dog obedience training methods out there it is hard to know which way to go when looking for methods. Not all methods are one size fits all. Some training styles are going to resonate with you and some are not. Luckily most of the products reviewed here are not expensive, so if you had to try out a couple you are still spending less than if you hired a professional trainer to come and train your dog.

You cannot put a price on having a trusting, loving relationship with your dog. That is one of the benefits of spending a few minutes a day bonding and training with your dog with the help of the resources here. Your dog looks to you to be the “leader of the pack” and he wants to trust you to make the right decisions and to lead him down the right path. It is this trust and bond that will be the “glue” that makes having a well-behaved dog a natural way of life.

Some of you may learn better from reading a book, some of you may learn better from watching videos. The courses represented here are a combination of both. It is important to understand what your learning style is and then choose a course that lines up with you. The Online Dog Trainer featured at the upper right of this page is my featured course at this time because I find Doggy Dan to be the most laid-back, articulate, and natural dog trainer that I have come across. Also his video-based method works for me because I can watch a small lesson and then immediately apply it that day. Now that works for me but it may not work for you.
